3rd Shift and Eating Healthy

Well this is my recovery week from Insanity so I thought I would talk about healthy eating and being on 3rd shift or shift work.  I have been doing this for 9 years now and I have not found a healthy food place open at 3 or 4 oclock in the morning yet nor will I.  Well, that leaves about one option.  Bring your own food....so, now that that is figured out when do you eat?  my schedule is crazy... I work all night, get 4 hours of sleep, go work second job, come home, eat, workout and take a nap and then go back to work all night again.  I have found that taking my food to work at night.. usually a chicken wrap, three hard boiled eggs, apple and a cheese stick works well.  I snack on it all through the night.  When I go home I refuse to eat although it is tempting but I do not.  I go to sleep wether it is a 4 hour or 8 hour sleep and when I wake up my first meal is a Shakelogy shake and I load it up full of protein either with peanut butter or All Whites.  I take a protien bar with me to my second job and that holds me over until I get back home to eat dinner.  The Shakeology usually holds me over a good 4 hours.  My wife cooks very healthy and its allways a treat to walk in the door.  She is even starting her own blog.  My only problem is I find myself to lazy to count my calories and I am think I am falling short of the 3000 that is recomended for me.  You have to remember that I am also doing Insanity daily during this.  I love it when people tell me that they do not have time to work out.  You have time, you just have to give something up.  For more informationa about Shakeology see my siter at
